These disturbances can be varied and wide-ranged, and if it something coming from your house you can probably find the problem and fix it. But what if it has nothing to do with the activity within your home? Maybe, our neighbors have an active dog, a busy remodeling project, or maybe they like to listen to loud music at all hours of the night. There are ways to mitigate the noise within your home by building your walls more sound-proof, or maybe by adding a sound that is pleasant in order to cancel out the bothersome ones. Despite all of these efforts though, what if you need to do more?
You can start by getting to know the noise ordinances of your local municipality. If you realize that these ordinances are not being followed in your neighborhood, it would be a good idea to communicate this to your neighbor through a very polite, but matter-of-fact letter. Also, explain that the police would have to get involved of these ordinances aren’t followed, and include a copy of the ordinances along with the penalty for not following them. Usually, some sort of compromise can be reached after taking these steps.
Hopefully, this will help you to minimize the noise in your home.
